Shepparton English Language Centre, Ethnic Council of Shepparton and Rural Australians for Refugees will host a friendly soccer match and BBQ-get to know you in Mansfield on Sunday 16 June. A bus will leave Welsford Street at 9am sharp.

Mansfield is a Refugee Welcome Zone:

“As a (Refugee) Welcome Zone we are symbolically opening our arms and our hearts to people who have come to Australia seeking our protection so that they can enjoy this wonderful district and the hospitality of the residents,” said President of Mansfield Rural Australians for Refugees (RAR) Marie Sellstrom.

“Over the past two and a half years we have hosted refugees from Afghanistan, Pakistan, South Sudan, Somalia, Iran, Iraq, Myanmar and Syria.”
