Beyond the quick fix. Regional Migration, Multi+ Interculturalism Symposium

Latrobe University – Department of Humanities – is pleased to invite you to a 1-day symposium titled ‘Beyond the quick fix: migration, multi- and interculturalism in regional and rural Australia’ at the La Trobe Art Institute in Bendigo on Tuesday 12th November, from 10.30 – 4.45. The event has been convened by the Regional Migration and Multiculturalism research cluster at La Trobe University funded by the School of Humanities and Social Sciences.

The symposium will bring together researchers and practitioners to discuss learnings and insights that contribute to socially sustainable regional migration, and to the further development of multi- and interculturalism policies and practice.

The program includes a panel with representatives from the community sector, service providers and other stakeholders from different regional sites (including Shepparton, Bendigo and Mildura); presentations by academic researchers with strong track records in researching regional and rural migration and multiculturalism-related issues; and discussions of research and policy gaps and future research needs.
