Ethnic Council of Shepparton and District

Statement from Ethnic Communities Council of Victoria

Ethnic Communities Council of Victoria
In keeping with official advice, the ECCV is reviewing our upcoming commitments to reduce the risk to vulnerable community members such as our aged care sector clients, people with a disability and those with pre-existing conditions. To ensure the safety of our staff and the community we serve, the ECCV has cancelled all non-essential meetings, forums and workshops scheduled to take place in the coming four weeks, including the upcoming All One Together Campaign Ambassador’s Breakfast. Our staff team will be in touch with partners, stakeholders and funders via video or teleconferencing as required. We thank you for your understanding and ask that you follow our social media channels to stay across updates regarding ECCV events and other news. We are determined to act in the interest of the community, by reducing risk where possible and stemming the spread of the virus.

The Ethnic Council of Shepparton and District endorses this statement and will follow suit. The Ethnic Council has engaged with the staff and has placed similar arrangements into practice.

Cultural Diversity Week Postponed

event postponed

In the interests of health and safety, the decision has been made to cancel the Cultural Diversity Week Launch event on the 21 March 2020 in the Maude Street Mall.

Those who were directly involved in the way of performances have been contacted individually.

Shepparton Council looks forward to being able to plan a similar type of event later in the year.

Cultural Bus Tour

Cultural Bus Tour Cancelled

While current advice relating to the containment of COVID-19 does not dictate the Cultural Bus Tour had to be cancelled, the Ethnic Council in collaboration with cultural places has determined that it is responsible and prudent to do so at this time. This difficult decision reflects that Cultural Bus Tours can be rescheduled and are held regularly. All people who have registered for this tour will be contacted and invited to participate at a later date. Contact details for all who have signed up have been retained for this purpose.
