After more than 15 years as manager of the Ethnic Council of Shepparton and District, Chris Hazelman is stepping down, not to “retreat to watching the horses on TV and spend life drinking beer and playing golf”, but to seek out new challenges. It won’t be without some tugs on the heart strings, though.
Chris Hazelman has left an indelible mark on the Ethnic Council, having dedicated 15 years as manager. His departure is a significant loss for the Council, but it is also a moment of reflection and gratitude for the contributions he has made.
On account of the retirement of Chris Hazelman OAM, the position of Manager will become vacant. The Ethnic Council of Shepparton and District seeks applications for the position of Manager. Applications for this position will close on 27 April 2023

For the first time, a Nepali language movie is being shown in Shepparton on Monday, January 23 at Village Cinemas Shepparton.
Hosted by the Greater Shepparton Nepalese Community, the charity-based event will premiere The Secrets of Radha at 7pm.
In attendance will be the film’s writer and director, Subarna Thapa, to introduce the movie and take part in a Q and A afterwards.

The Ethnic Council of Shepparton and District notes the passing of Dr. Apollo Nsubuga-Kyobe, Vice President and long-standing board member of the Ethnic Council. Dr Apollo was a pioneer in the African Victorian community for over three decades. He tirelessly supported the settlement of new and emerging communities across metropolitan and regional Victoria and empowered African Victorians of all cultures, backgrounds and generations.
