The Victorian Government has developed resources in multiple languages with information about how you can stay COVIDSafe and get support if you need it. The translated assets included in this message are part of the effort to ensure that all Victorians are informed on what COVID-19 medications you can receive. Arabic, Dari, English, Farsi, Hazaragi, Malayalam, Nepali, Pashto, Punjabi, Swahili, Turkish and Urdu languages are given.
Goulburn Valley Health advise the new Vaccination Hub is up and running at Tirana City Walk, Level 1/11, 302-308 Wyndham Street, Shepparton. You can access the Hub from the back car park off Welsford Street or from the front on Wyndham Street, via the elevator.
Murray Public Health Unit and the Ethnic Council of Shepparton and District have been engaging with community leaders to create culturally appropriate video messages about COVID-19 vaccination for multicultural and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities
Due new strains of Covid-19 in the community, all are encouraged to obtain their flu shots and take note of what additional Covid-19 vaccine shots that are available for age groups.
COVID-19 rates are high, and Victoria has recorded more cases of the flu so far this year than the whole of 2020 and 2021 combined. That’s why it’s so important to do what we can to stay well this winter. Translations are available in many languages.
The good news is, getting your flu shot, and staying up-to-date with your COVID-19 vaccinations, will help you, and the people around you, stay well. Along with simple things like staying home if you’re unwell, these routine winter vaccinations can protect what’s most important to you.
By encouraging Victorians to stay well this winter, this campaign plays an important role in supporting our burdened healthcare system.
Many Australians have been getting scam text messages about being offered free COVID-19 test kits. The scam text message will say: ‘You have been in recent contact with a person who is positive for COVID-19. Please order a free test kit via [malicious link]’. This malicious link will take you to a fake Australian Government or Medicare site designed to steal your personal information and bank account details.
Now that we are in the third year of the pandemic, public health policy is moving away from mandates and compliance, towards greater individual, employer and community responsibility for self-managing COVID-19. From 1 July 2022, there will be changes to how food relief is being delivered.
This winter, it’s really important to stay up to date with your flu and COVID-19 vaccinations. More travel and more socializing means that both flu, as well as COVID-19 are circulating in the community. Messages are available for you to listen in your language.
FREE flu vaccinations are now available at the Shepparton Vaccination Hub, McIntosh Centre, Shepparton Showgrounds. Walk-ins are available at any time. COVID-19 vaccinations can also be given at the same time, if people are due.
