Climate Change – Multicultural Community Consultation
The Ethnic Communities Council of Victoria is hosting a community consultation workshop on 9 March at the Greek Centre for a national research project on climate change and how to best empower multicultural communities to take part in climate action. All participants will receive $50 for their time. The project is led by FECCA and the Multicultural Leadership Initiative.

Health authorities say Victoria’s first human case of Murray Valley encephalitis in nearly 50 years has been discovered in the state’s north and warn the risk of more cases of mosquito-borne disease in the region is very high.
Goulburn Valley sends essentials as Türkiye earthquake victims cope with harsh winter
The Goulburn Valley Turkish community has rallied together after the earthquake on Monday. Financial donations are the most helpful support right now due to Australia’s distance from the disaster zone. The earthquake is being described as the worst the country has experienced since 1939.
Introducing Path2Help
Path2Help is a new tool from the Alcohol and Drug Foundation (ADF) to help you support your loved ones with alcohol or drugs, providing support for Family and Friends. Recent research shows that 71% of people don’t know where to turn to for help with alcohol and drugs.
Important information about the end of TPV/ SHEV
Those who already have a Temporary Protection Visa (TPV) or Safe Haven Enterprise Visa (SHEV) will be able to apply for a permanent Resolution of Status (RoS) Visa. Current applications to renew expired TPVs or SHEVs will automatically be converted to RoS visa applications. Those still waiting for a decision will be granted a RoS Visa once their need for refugee protection is determined. Factsheets are available in Arabic, Burmese, Dari, English Farsi, Pashto , Rohingya.
Fairley Youth Community Leadership Program
Goulburn Murray Community Leadership in partnership with City of Greater Shepparton announce a Community Youth Leadership Program. Applications are invited for youth aged 18-25, and a number of community groups may nominate youth for participation. Applications close February 26, 2023.

Film Fundraiser for Ukraine
Friends of Rural Australians for Refugees (RAR) Strathbogie Shire will hold a Film Fundraiser for Ukraine at the St Dunstan’s Hall, Violet Town on Thursday 23 February at 6pm. TWO films will be screened: Homeward (Crimea, 2019) and The Earth is Blue as an Orange (Ukraine, 2020)
