Help to develop the new Diverse Communities Mental Health and Wellbeing Framework

Mental Health and Wellbeing of Diverse CommunitiesThe Mental Health and Wellbeing Division is now seeking further input on our Diverse Communities Mental Health and Wellbeing Framework through the Engage Victoria platform.

Background

The Royal Commission into Victoria’s Mental Health System found that the current mental health system is not responsive to the needs of Victoria’s multicultural, LGBTIQ+ and disability communities.

In response, the Victorian Government is developing a Diverse Communities Mental Health and Wellbeing Framework to improve and support the mental health and wellbeing of people from diverse communities. The Framework will be our long-term strategy for recreating a system that responds to the needs of diverse communities and is more equitable.

The Framework and the feedback we have received through our consultations will also support development of a two-year Blueprint for Action. The Blueprint for Action will set out priority actions to ensure we deliver on the Framework’s vision.

How to participate

Since July 2022, we have heard from nearly 400 people from diverse communities, community organisations and professionals who work with diverse communities, who have helped us in developing this Framework.

Now, we want your input. The more voices we hear from, the more reflective this document is of the wide range of communities that it is designed for, and the more effective it can be in creating change.

We invite you to let us know if our ‘What we have heard so far’ report reflects your ideas and suggestions about the Diverse Communities Mental Health and Wellbeing Framework.

You can participate by filling out a short survey.
