FLOOD UPDATE

Friday 12 January 2024

Water continues to rise slowly in the Goulburn River. The peak is expected at Shepparton during Saturday night. The water will remain high for a day or two.

The floodwater will be much lower than in 2022.

Most houses and people won’t be affected.

There may be floodwater in some streets – some people could be stuck at home for a couple of days. Please be patient – the flood water should go away soon.

If you are cut off by flood waters and need essential food or medication reach out for support to your community leaders.

It is understandable to have a mix of feelings at this time. Sometimes it helps to talk to neighbours, friends or family. You can also reach out for support to:

Support Payments will only be available if floodwater goes into your house.

Don’t walk or drive into flooded areas. It is dangerous.
