Fearless Jobs Expo

The Victorian State Government is helping the AMWU Victoria (Australian Manufacturers Workers Union) put on a free to attend event for women interested in learning more about jobs in the Manufacturing industry. The event will take place on Thursday, April 18th at Broadmeadows Town Hall, from 10:00am to 12:30pm.

At the event, women will have the opportunity to

  • apply for jobs,speak to careers practitioners
  • participate in hands-on tool workshops,
  • and meet women working in the industry

There will be assistants to help with translation in Turkish and Arabic.

Thursday, April 18th at Broadmeadows Town Hall, from 10:00am to 12:30pm.

Careers in manufacturing:

Careers in the manufacturing industry are broad and include in-demand entry-level jobs as a pick-packer, assembler, production line worker and more. Opportunities for advancement include becoming a supervisor, or upskilling to become a tradesperon through apprenticeships in the metal work and automotive industries.

So bring along your resume and apply for real jobs on the day! You’ll even have the opportunity to have private interviews with employers in the local region.

11:15 – 11:45AM Support for migrant women, basic workplace rights, wages & entitlements (intepreters available)

Additional assistance you’ll find on the day:

  • Support from the Broadmeadows Kangan Institute Skills & Jobs Centre careers practitioners
  • Hands-on tool workshops provided by TAFE teachers
  • Hear from women working in the industry about their experiences
  • Interpreters available
