Shepparton South Sudanese families are once again encouraged to take part in a Positive Parenting workshop, focusing on migration and child development.

Following sessions held in Shepparton last year, Dr Santino Atem Deng will speak later this month on the benefits of fathers building a relationship with their child and raising them in Australian culture.

Session facilitator Thon Thon said Positive Parenting aimed to empower parents and their children through creating positive relationships with each other and their schools.

It also provides parents with the opportunity to connect, share parenting challenges and work together to find solutions.

This month’s Positive Parenting session is at 399 Wyndham St, Shepparton, on Wednesday March 25, from 9 am to noon.

The free workshops are supported by Ethnic Council of Shepparton and District in collaboration with Catholic Care and Primary Care Connect.

To register or for more information, phone Thon Thon on 5831 2395.
