L’Arche Shepparton – Activity Day – Ethnic Council of Shepparton and District

St Brendan’s Parish and Shepparton L’Arche Council will host an Activity day in St Brendan’s Parish Garden and the Mgr Peter Jeffrey Centre on Sunday 7 March at 12:30 for disabled and their carers and anyone interested in the work of Shepparton L’Arche Council.

Background:

For over ten years a group comprising of people with intellectual disabilities, their family members, carers and other committed community members has gathered monthly in the Monsignor Peter Jeffrey Centre.

Recently the group has joined the L’Arche Australia group with the intention of expanding the scope of assistance that can be provided to members and their families. It is envisaged that this will begin with day programs teaching life skills and move to permanent twenty-four hour accommodation.

We can all appreciate the need for this as carers of our members age and worry about care provision for their special people with intellectual disabilities.

If you would like to help with this important work our group would welcome you with open arms.

Activity Day: Open to Over 18’s with special needs, carers in attendance.
