Family Violence Community information online

The Goulburn Family Violence Executive are delighted to offer a series of monthly community information sessions about family violence.  This month the Family Violence Implementation Monitor’s team will speak about their recent annual report reflecting on the reform and its achievements and challenges.

In May 2021, as an independent statutory officer, Jan Shuard PSM, the Family Violence Reform Implementation Monitor, tabled her report to Parliament. The Monitor is required by legislation to table an annual report to Parliament each year from 2017 to 2020.

The Monitor’s fourth report focuses on the following themes chosen as monitoring priorities for 2020:

  • What has changed since the Royal Commission into Family Violence?
  • Implementation reviews
  • Workforce
  • Children as primary victims of family violence
  • Safe Housing
  • Perpetrator accountability
  • Adolescents who use violence in the home
  • Voices of victim survivors
  • COVID-19 response
  • Maintaining momentum: What remains to be done?

The Monitor also provides her commentary and overview of the reforms in a report’s foreword.

The team will share her key findings from the 2020 report, discuss what remains to be done and outline the next steps in monitoring the family violence reforms.

Friday 25 June from 8:00am – 8:45am
