Trusted COVID-19 and vaccine information and live press conferences in your language – Ethnic Council of Shepparton and District

SBS is committed to informing Australia’s multilingual communities about the latest Coronavirus developments. The SBS Coronavirus Portal provides information and updates in 60 languages.

As the recent COVID-19 outbreaks impact communities across Australia, SBS is continuing to provide timely and trusted COVID-19 news and resources in English and in more than 60 languages across our services. This work ensures Australians can access critical information and updates in their preferred language, countering misinformation, and connecting directly with our communities to support them to stay informed and safe.

Throughout the pandemic the SBS has significantly increased our content and services, recently providing live translations in key languages for the daily New South Wales and Victorian government COVID-19 press conferences across our radio and social media platforms. From Monday, 16 August 2021, the SBS will be expanding services to begin broadcasting the daily NSW press conferences interpreted into multiple languages, live on television from 11am every day to NSW audiences, and streamed nationally as well as catch up on SBS On Demand. The Victorian daily updates will also be available to view on SBS On Demand, coming soon as part of a dedicated COVID-19 multilingual information section on the platform.

This builds on SBS’s ongoing work in service of our communities, with dedicated daily in-language COVID-19 updates and extensive coverage across radio, online, social media and podcasts, plus explainer videos, infographics and fact sheets, accessible through the SBS Multilingual Coronavirus Portal – your one-stop destination for up-to-date, reliable news and information about COVID-19 and vaccines, in more than 60 languages.
