Today SBS has opened the public consultation for its Language Services Review, and we are inviting you to have your say.

Every five years, SBS undertakes a Language Services Review to examine our offering and ensure our services meet the needs of Australia’s rapidly changing and increasingly diverse society.

SBS will have public consultation from 5 October to 12 November, inviting feedback on the draft language selection criteria. The selection criteria will be used in conjunction with the 2021 Australian Census data to determine the languages to be serviced for the next five years. and help inform the way those services are delivered including radio, podcasting and other digital platforms.

The six-week public consultation is an important opportunity for you to contribute to the future of SBS Radio services and the network’s broader audio and language offering by providing feedback.

The language selection criteria will be finalised in May 2022, with the new services to be launched before the end of 2022.
