Early Parenting Support Service
Caroline Chisholm Society provides early help and intervention to carers at risk of child protection involvement. The Society’s specialisation in pregnancy, early parenting and the first 1000 days is recognised as a significant early intervention for women at risk of child protection involvement and is in line with state legislation and public policy to prevent future harm to women and children and introducing early intervention support and positive outcomes.

Early Parenting Support Service
Operating as 40-hour family service model focusing on 3 main goals:

  • Family functioning
  • Child Well-being
  • Parenting Capacity

Intensive Family Intervention & Prevention
Operating as a 200-hour service model it aligns with the family service model and operates for complex high-risk families with a step-down approach to tapering off services.

The Intensive Family Intervention and Prevention model focuses on 3 main goals:

  • Family functioning
  • Child Well-being
  • Parenting Capacity

Both models underpinning goal is to connect women and children with the local communityto ensure ongoing and lasting professional and social connection support for families.

Support Services

  • Qualified practitioners
  • Connecting clients and families to services and support in their local community
  • Specialised services in pregnancy, young children, early parenting and the first 1000 days of a child’s life
  • Early intervention and wrap around support – keeping families together and reducing the risk of child protection involvement
  • Goal related support plans
  • Ongoing support with a step-down approach to tapering off services
  • Referrals to additional support services including GPs, perinatal health care, maternal health services, and counselling support
  • Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) support including translation services and multi-lingual volunteers

Material support

  • Nursery equipment such as bassinets, prams, baby baths, change tables ,and high chairs(when available)
  • Baby/children’s clothing from 00000-Size 12
  • Maternity clothing
  • Bedding for bassinets and cots

Goulburn Valley Pregnancy and Family Support Service is a not-for-profit organisation that relies on volunteers and community support to provide a range of services to pregnant women and their families.
