Shepparton Ethnic Council welcomes the community to participate in a day of discovery of Shepparton’s unique Multicultural communities on Monday 20th of June 2022. There will be visits to places of cultural interest in Mooroopna and Shepparton. Seats are limited – interested people should register early.
The Tour will start at the Ethnic Council at 9:00am, (Bus pick-up) and conclude around 3:45pm.
The tour will visit the Iraqi Mosque, the Turkish Mosque, Afghan Mosque and the Gurdwara Sahib – Sikh Temple.
A lunch will be provided at the Iraqi Mosque.
The Bus tour will commence at the Rumbalara Community Centre and then go to the Turkish Mosque, where the Imam and members of Shepparton’s Turkish Community explain the features of the mosque and elements of the Muslim worship service and the Holy Qu’ran. The Cultural Bus Tour will also visit the Afghan Mosque and the Sikh Temple.
As we will visiting places of various cultures and religions, cultural sensitivity needs to be acknowledged. As part the Muslim and Sikh traditions removal of shoes is required and the covering of hair before you enter their places of worship. A scarf can be used to cover hair and socks may be needed when shoe removal is required.

The tour will start at the Ethnic Council 9 am and finish around 3:45 pm.
We will take you to the Rumbalara Aboriginal Co-operative, Turkish Mosque, Iraqi Mosque, (Lunch), Afghan Mosque, and the Gurdwara Sahib (Sikh temple).
9.00 am – Departure (Ethnic Council)
9:20 am – Rumbalara – Mooroopna (70 minutes)
10:50 am – Turkish Mosque (1 Hour)
12:10 pm – Iraqi Mosque – Lunch (85 Minutes)
1:45 pm – Afghani Mosque (45 minutes)
2:45 pm – Sikh Gurdwara (45 minutes)
3:45 pm- Return back to the Ethnic Council – End of Tour
