For Refugee Week, Wise Women Well in collaboration with the Ethnic Council will hold a Multicultural Women’s Health Expo at St Paul’s African House on Wednesday 29 June from 10:00-2:30pm. Childcare and Lunch will be provided for all attending. Many local agencies will be participating in this event. Language help is available for Arabic along with Sudanese, Syrian, Hazaragi, Dari, Farsi, Dinka, Arabic, Swahili, Gikuyu, Sinhala, Kirundi, Tagalog.
Discussion circles will have translation assistants at every table.
Issues to be addressed include
- Children’s Health: development and behaviours
- Mental & Physical Health
- Sexual Health: period pain and management, endometriosis
- Sexual Health: contraception, getting pregnant, potential impacts of pregnancy and birth
- Youth Health, managing school workload and relationships, Supporting career decisions etc
- Financial Health
- and more … … …
Languages available: Arabic along with Sudanese, Syrian, Hazaragi, Dari, Farsi, Dinka, Arabic, Swahili, Gikuyu, Sinhala, Kirundi, Tagalog … these translators will be availble to move from table to table and assist.
