Multicultural Women's Health Expo

For Refugee Week, Wise Women Well in collaboration with the Ethnic Council will hold a Multicultural Women’s Health Expo at St Paul’s African House on Wednesday 29 June from 10:00-2:30pm. Childcare and Lunch will be provided for all attending. Many local agencies will be participating in this event. Language help is available for Arabic along with Sudanese, Syrian, Hazaragi, Dari, Farsi, Dinka, Arabic, Swahili, Gikuyu, Sinhala, Kirundi, Tagalog.


Refugee Week 2022 has the theme of Healing. As part of the Refugee Week healing activities, Wise Women Well will provide Community Health Educators and Translators – along with childcare and lunch – and address a rage of topics.

Discussion circles will have translation assistants at every table.

Issues to be addressed include

  • Children’s Health: development and behaviours
  • Mental & Physical Health
  • Sexual Health: period pain and management, endometriosis
  • Sexual Health: contraception, getting pregnant, potential impacts of pregnancy and birth
  • Youth Health, managing school workload and relationships, Supporting career decisions etc
  • Financial Health
  • and more … … …

Multicultural Women's Health Expo

Languages available: Arabic along with Sudanese, Syrian, Hazaragi, Dari, Farsi, Dinka, Arabic, Swahili, Gikuyu, Sinhala, Kirundi, Tagalog … these translators will be availble to move from table to table and assist.

Enjoy some time with friends, share good food and learn about services in your community

Please let us know by Mon 27 June that you are coming so we can make sure we have enough childcare and will provide community interpreting and support your discussions with health and community services staff – see below
