Shepparton Council is organising a weekly catch up for CALD women – that is, women who have migrated, women who have settled here in Shepparton and the Goulburn Valley. Every Thursday at Shepparton Library from 10:00 am. This event is specially prepared for Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Women.
Vesak is when Buddhists in Shepparton and across Australia come together and recollect the Lord Buddha’s birth, enlightenment and passing. Vesak is an international celebration and listed among UN Observances. Buddhism is one of the world’s oldest philosophies of non-violence and has practiced peaceful relations for over 2600 years. In this day and age, Buddhism continues fostering of world peace. There will be a celebration of Vesak in Queens Gardens, Shepparton, on Saturday, 29 May 2021.
Settlement Services International (SSI) is glad to announce that the Multicultural Gambling Harm Prevention Services (MGHPS) program is now up and running. The program offers a variety of free services for individuals and families experiencing negative effects from gambling in Victoria. Specific counselling support will be designed for individuals from Middle Eastern, Iranian, Afghani, Burmese, Indian, Sudanese, and Pasifika backgrounds.
Centre for Multicultural Youth are conducting a survey -asking multicultural young people and organizations that support young people in Regional Victoria areas to complete to help them better understand the need for a youth-led unit in your region.

The course is centred around a study of the questions contained in the test. The course is free and commences on Thursday 20 May 2021. This is an English Medium course. Interpreters will be in attendance.

The Orange Door is a free service for adults, children and young people who are experiencing or have experienced family violence and families who need extra support with the care of children. The Orange Door is now open in Central Shepparton, opposite Coles and Kmart.
Red Cross welcomes the federal government’s $10 million investment in dedicated support for people on temporary visas who are experiencing domestic and family violence. This includes $6.5 million to Red Cross to provide financial assistance to this group, as an extension of the current nationwide emergency relief program.
