African Studies Group

Formed in 2012, the African Studies Group (ASG) is a network of scholars interested in Africa and the African diaspora. African Studies Group seeks to bridge the gap between the university and community. We provide an enabling social platform for innovative and supportive collegial discussions on Africa and its relations with the world.

This event aims to strengthen and foster the connection between African-Australian communities and the University. This is at the backdrop of the long-standing perception of the University of Melbourne being harder to access for certain groups, particularly the African Australian and other migrant communities.
