Community celebrates Pakistan Independence Day – Ethnic Council of Shepparton and District

The Pakistani Community of Shepparton celebrated the 72nd Independence Day of Pakistan on the last weekend of August, 2019.

It was day of colour, culture and celebration for the Goulburn Valley’s Pakistani community on Saturday.

Held in Shepparton, the event celebrated Pakistan’s 72nd Independence Day and was also the first official event of the newly formed Pakistan Association of the Goulburn Valley.

Pakistan Association of the Goulburn Valley president Muhammad Abdullah was delighted to celebrate both momentous occasions with the support of the Ethnic Council of Shepparton and District and the State Member for Shepparton Suzanna Sheed.

The day began with the Australian and Pakistan national anthems, followed by speeches and performances by the children.

Mr Abdullah and Pakistan Association of the Goulburn Valley vice president Rabia Gill were glad to see so many families enjoying themselves on the day.
