Gambling Harm Awareness Week Information Session

Gambling Harm Awareness Week LogoGreater Shepparton City Council and Get Mooving, in partnership with the Victorian Responsible Gambling Foundation and Primary Care Connect Shepparton, are hosting an event to engage with the community about why gambling harm matters.

Members from the ReSpin Program will lead a community discussion sharing personal experiences of gambling harm and recovery.

Primary Care Connect will also have access to financial and therapeutic counsellors and information of what services are available locally.

Gambling affects more people than you realise. The effects of gambling are often hidden and not spoken about because it can be a sensitive issue that makes people feel uncomfortable.

Anyone can experience negative effects of gambling but it’s not something we talk about openly. When we talk about gambling harm as a community it makes it okay for those affected to reach out.

Talking is the first step in reducing gambling harm in our community. Sharing personal experiences of gambling harm helps break down the stigma.

There will be light refreshments available. Registration required.
