What does multiculturalism mean to Shepparton?

Shepparton is very lucky to have such a diverse and strong multicultural community. It is one reason why Greater Shepparton region has growth in both business and community. We have a wide range of skills and cultures which the many ethnic groups bring to our region. I feel we are very thankful for every person and family that has chosen to reside in our community. Shepparton is now well known for our multiculturalism and I am keen to support further growth where I can build strong relationships to support any needs and concerns if elected.

What specific services should council provide to support these communities?

  • I would like to get know and understand more about what is needed directly from the wide range of different multicultural groups, before I start writing down, or even suggesting, what I feel is needed.
  • Once I become fully aware of your needs and requests for a more cohesive community, then I shall be in a better position to be a stronger voice.
  • With the aim to build a stronger community at all levels with the help from those who need and seek support. My promise to you is that I will spend time with you, to bring my understanding up to speed.
