Afro-Australians and Mental Health: Inclusive Mental Health Solutions

Afro-Australians and Mental HealthThe Mental Health Foundation of Australia will conduct an online webinar dicussing mental health solutions for African Australians on evening o f25 May 2021 from 7:00pm-8:00pm. This webinar is free of charge.

This webinar/seminar will look at inclusivity in mental health solutions across all industries. Investigating the disparities between the public, private, and non-profit sectors as they broaden their multicultural reach, they must explore and initiate in their corporate structures.

It is encouraging that as companies expand to include people of colour, afro-Australians, and people of African descent, mental health is included on their map to insure that those from these backgrounds are not ignored or side-lined.

Researchers tend to overlook African populations in mental health studies, and service providers in Asia Pacific are insufficient to meet population needs and lack a mental health strategy. As people face social isolation, loss of income and livelihood, illness or death in their families and communities, The COVID-19 pandemic, with its attendant health and economic consequences, has only exacerbated global mental health concerns.
