The Victorian Multicultural Commission is proud to announce the partnership with the Department of Jobs Precincts and Regions on Sick Pay Guarantee.
The Victorian Sick Pay Guarantee provides eligible casual and contract workers with a guarantee they will receive sick pay when they can’t go to work. Because no worker should have to choose between a day’s pay and their health – or the health of a loved one.
Victoria is the first state to provide sick and carer’s pay to casual and contract workers. The two-year pilot program is fully funded by the Victorian Government.
The Victorian Multicultural Commission in partnership with the Department of Jobs Precincts and Regions will be hosting a forum on Wednesday 7 September 2022 from 6:30pm-7:30pm to discuss the very important topic of how casual and contract workers can be paid when sick or caring for others.
The Victorian Multicultural Commission is pleased to announce that we will be joined by The Hon. Jaala Pulford the Minister for Employment, Small Business, Innovation, Medical Research and the Digital Economy and Resources.
The Sick Pay Guarantee provides up to 38 hours a year of sick and carer’s pay to casual and contract workers in certain jobs.
