Dookie Campus Open DayInterested in Farming? Interested in Agriculture? Come and experience for yourself at the Dookie campus and learn about key disciplines, undergraduate and diploma courses. Take a tour of the Dookie campus and see how it’s a focal point for key research, teaching and technology development that is helping to shape the future of agriculture in Australia. This Open day is on Sunday 11 September 2022.


The University of Melbourne is hosting an event at its Dookie Campus on Sunday 11 September, where students and their families will be able to learn more about our undergraduate and diploma courses, and explore the Dookie campus including our dairy and winery.

The Dookie Campus offers courses in Agricultural Sciences, Biological Science, Earth and Environmental Science, Food Science, Urban and Cultural Heritage and Vetinary Science – are among the many courses offered. A large range of short courses are also offered.

On the day, visitors will have the opportunity to hear from students and staff about student life, accommodation options, wellbeing and support services, and study options and the careers they can lead to.

Students will also be able to learn more about our special entry access scheme, Access Melbourne , which offers guaranteed entry to eligible students including those from rural and regional areas, disadvantaged financial backgrounds, and those who are first in their family to attend university.

Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students interested in studying at the University will also be able to speak to representatives from Murrup Barak , our Melbourne Institute for Indigenous Development, and the Academy of Sport, Health and Education (ASHE), a partnership between the University and Rumbalara Football and Netball Club (RFNC), about the support they offer Indigenous students.

This is a fantastic opportunity for interested persons from CALD and multicultural settlment persons to explore their future study options, and to get a feel for student life at the University and the Dookie Campus. You are welcome to Discover Melbourne at Dookie on Sunday 11 September 2022

About Dookie

Dookie Campus is Victoria’s oldest agricultural college and Australia’s second oldest (after Hawksbury). The first students graduated in 1888. The Dookie College Estate is a 2440-hectare property comprised of farming enterprises and the Dookie Bushland Reserve. Consisting of 270 ha of remnant White/Grey Box, the Dookie Bushland Reserve is of national significance and is the single largest and most diverse area of White/Grey box grassy woodland remaining in Victoria. The reserve is monitored and managed to help maintain the biodiversity of this important ecosystem.

Dookie Farm enterprises (dairy, broadacre cropping, sheep and orchard) are managed as commercial ventures, incorporating research and educational programs.
