Run for Council – Candidate Information Session – Ethnic Council of Shepparton and District

Council will conduct a Candidate Information Session to give you great insight into what being a Councillor might look like, including time commitments, responsibilities and general requirements under the Local Government Act 2020, as we approach the 2024 Council elections.

Council is an inclusive and safe space, and our Councillors represent the
bold, multicultural community which Greater Shepparton is known for.
Everyone is welcome to attend the Information Session, with women from
the Greater Shepparton community encouraged to come along.

Hosted by Greater Shepparton City Council with special guest Mayor of Bendigo City Council, Cr Andrea Metcalf. Light catering and tea/coffee provided.

Local Government is a proud leader in gender equality. At the 2020 local government elections, Victoria set a new national record for female representation with women making up 43.8% of elected councillors, helping advance towards the goal of gender equality by 2025.
