A one-off grants round worth $240,000 will also be available to eligible groups for community projects that are innovative and positively impact the lives of Victoria’s African communities.

The Victorian African Communities Action Plan aims to build welcoming communities, improve outcomes and create lasting opportunities for Victorians of African heritage.

The Action Plan proposes over 250 actions across six focus areas:

1. Business

2. Employment

3. Education and training

4. Health and wellbeing

5. Inclusion and empowerment

6. Leadership, cohesion and connection

The Action Plan acknowledges the strengths of Victoria’s African communities and supports Victorians of African heritage to own, lead and be part of solutions. The Action Plan also asks governments, as well as the civil, private, academic, philanthropic sectors, to think about how they can work more closely with African communities to help improve wellbeing.
