Victorian Youth Week 2021 is Saturday June 26th – Friday July 2nd.

Greater Shepparton City Council are the proud recipients of a $2000 Victorian Youth Week Grant, to help fund a community initiative to mark the annual week. The funding grant will implement the Young People Activate Kindness project.

Any young people aged between 12 to 25 years are encouraged to get involved by creating a message of kindness which can be shared with community members who need some positive support.

As part of the funding, the Youth Development Team are working with Headspace, GoTAFE, the Berry Street School, local schools and other partner agencies to ensure the success and wide reach of the program.

We are also working internally with Aged and Disability Teams to engage with older people as a way to create intergenerational connections through the program.

We are asking young people to help us all stay connected in our new COVID normal world by writing letters and messages, drawing images or creating videos that can be shared online with older people in our community. To get involved simply send your messages of kindness to the Council Youth Team via the email below by Friday June 18th and we will send your kindness messages on to those who need them.

To get involved simply send your kindness messages in by Friday, 18 June to Council’s Youth Team ahead of this year’s Victorian Youth Week: youth@shepparton.vic.gov.au
