Shepparton Ethnic Council welcomes members of the broader community to participate in a day of discovery of Shepparton’s unique Multicultural communities on Wednesday 26th of May 2021. Seats are limited so please register early.
The Bus tour will then go to the Turkish Mosque, where the imam and members of Shepparton’s Turkish Community explain the features of the mosque and elements of the muslim worship service and the Holy Koran. The Cultural Bus Tour will also visit the Afghan Mosque and the Sikh Temple.
As we will visiting places of various cultures and religions, cultural sensitivity needs to be acknowledged. As part the Muslim and Sikh traditions removal of shoes is required and the covering of hair before you enter their places of worship. A scarf can be used to cover hair and socks may be needed when shoe removal is required.

Date: Wednesday 26th of May 2021
The tour will start at the Ethnic Council 9 am and finish around 4:00 pm.
We will take you to the Rumbalara Aboriginal Co-operative, Iraqi Mosque, Turkish Mosque (Lunch) , Afghan Mosque, and the Gurdwara Sahib (Sikh temple).
A lunch will be provided at the Turkish Mosque.
The Itinerary
9.15 am – Departure (Ethnic Council)
9:30 am – Experience the Indigenous Culture (1 Hour and 15 minutes)
11.00 am – Iraqi Mosque (45 Minutes)
12:00 pm – Turkish Mosque (1 Hour and 30 Minutes)
2.00 pm – Afghani Mosque (45 minutes)
3.00 pm – Sikh Gurdwara (45 minutes)
4.00 pm- Return back to the Ethnic Council – End of Tour
