Greater Shepparton City Council notifies a community update on Sunday afternoon at 4:30pm. Food relief packs are available, a rubbish disposal update is given, and there is a “how to volunteer” information for those seeking to help with the cleanup. Community Information Update – Sunday 23 October at 4.30pm
Greater Shepparton City Council and representatives from Emergency Services will be conducting another Community Information Update. Details below.

Food relief packs available
Shepparton Family and Financial Services are open from 10am to 2pm tomorrow, Sunday 23 October, for collection of food relief packs for those affected by the floods. Delivery is available if required. Phone 5831 7755
For urgent flood water deliveries please call the SES on 132 500.
GV Cares and Shepparton Foodshare will resume delivery from 9am on Monday 24 October.
Rubbish disposal update – 22 October 2022
Council is providing a limited kerbside household flood waste collection from nature strips. Collections commenced yesterday with over 40 loads collected from Murchison and Mooroopna.
Shepparton Resource Recovery Centre processed 263 loads of flood waste and Ardmona Resource Recovery Centre processed 227 loads of flood waste.
Cosgrove Landfill accepted 31 loads of flood waste equating to 209.58 tonnes.
Drivers were able to collect approximately 90 per cent of kerbside bins today with the remainder to be collected once water subsides over the coming days.

How to volunteer – Clean-up assistance needed
Council and flood recovery services have formally engaged Disaster Relief Australia to assist with the coordination and management of volunteers to assist with clean-up.
This includes removal of debris or household items to the curb (or a skip), removal of flooring, removal of plasterboard, etc. More details about this volunteering and how to register are included in the flyer above.

Flood Recovery Hotline
For flood recovery, call 1800 560 760.
The Flood Recovery Hotline is a single state-wide number that Victorians impacted by the floods can call for help with:
- Navigating available support
- Clean-up
- Temporary accommodation
- Mental health and wellbeing support.
The recovery hotline is open from 7.30am to 7.30pm every day.

The Shepparton Animal Shelter is currently closed to the public except by appointment only.

Maternal Child Health services will resume face to face from Monday 24 October 2022.
