Greater Shepparton City Council in partnership with Emergency Recovery Victoria, Wellways, Goulburn Flood Recovery Service and Mooroopna Football Netball Club are hosting a Community BBQ and Conversation Session with David Younger, natural disaster preparedness and recovery consultant. This event will take place at the Sir Ian McLennan Centre, Echuca Road, Mooroopna on Tuesday 2 May from 6pm.

Wellways delivers a free Flood Recovery and Mental Health program for anyone who has been affected – and is suffering after effects – of the recent floods. Wellways is located centrally in Shepparton and this service is open to all in Greater Shepparton.
The 2022 Victorian floods clean-up program includes free structural assessments for affected residential properties and small businesses. It also supports local councils to collect flood debris and waste.

A Community Recovery Hub has opened in Shepparton, bringing 20 flood recovery services together in a one-stop shop for victims of the October floods
The hub has been set up at Shepparton’s Senior Citizens Centre – in Welsford Street – for people who need advice or support with insurance, counselling, legal or financial issues and more. 20 agencies are active in this recovery centre.
Greater Shepparton City Council originally planned to use the Shepparton Sports Stadium as an evacuation point for residents fleeing rising floodwaters, but was unable to due to the stadium being below flood level.
