Global Compact for Safe Orderly and Regular Migration – Ethnic Council of Shepparton and District

The United Nations’ first International Migration Review Forum (IMRF) will be taking place from 17-20 May 2022. This conference, which will take place once every four years, is the primary global forum at which governments and all sectors of civil society meet to assess progress toward ensuring there are policies, procedures, and programmes that:

Make migration a choice rather than a necessity
Allow migration to happen in a safe, orderly, regular (legally documented and recognised) manne
rSupport the objectives of the Global Compact for Safe, Orderly, and Regular Migration

	The Ethnic Council of Shepparton and District acknowledges the Yorta Yorta People of the land which comprises the Goulburn Valley. We pay respect to tribal Elders, past, present and emerging and we celebrate their continuing culture and acknowledge the memory of their ancestors.
	The Ethnic Council of Shepparton and District is a peak body whose mission is to promote and represent the social, cultural and economic well-being of ethnic communities in the Goulburn Valley Region through the provision of quality and innovative settlement, refugee support, community development, and information and advocacy services.
