Australia Day events in Greater Shepparton – Ethnic Council of Shepparton and District

Australia Day events will take place throughout Greater Shepparton on Thursday 26 January 2023. Ceremonies, events and entertainment will be held in Dookie, Arcadia, Murchison, Tatura, Mooroopna, Shepparton and a community BBQ will be held in Toolamba.

Shepparton

Where: The Queen’s Gardens

When: 8.30am with proceedings commencing at 9.00am on Thursday 26 January 2023

Australia Day Awards will be presented to outstanding community members together with a Citizenship Ceremony where new members to Greater Shepparton will be welcomed. A light brunch will be available along with musical entertainment by Shepparton Brass and Wind and Monga who will perform during Morning Tea.

Dookie

Where: CWA Gardens Dookie

When: 10.00am on Thursday 26 January 2023

The Dookie CWA and the Dookie Lions Club will host the Dookie Australia Day Awards and will provide a sausage sizzle. There will be time for people to meet, mingle and enjoy the day.

Mooroopna

Where: Ferrari Park

When: 10.30am on Thursday 26 January 2023

There will be an address by a key note speaker and a flag raising ceremony. Mooroopna Australia Day Awards will be presented. Official proceedings will be followed by a sausage sizzle.

Murchison

Where: Murchison Swimming Pool

When: 8.00am breakfast, 9.00am official proceedings – on Thursday 26 January 2023

Attendees will be able to enjoy a BBQ breakfast followed by the presentation of Australia Day awards.

Tatura

Where: Victory Hall, Hogan Street

When: 9.30am on Thursday 26 January 2023

A free breakfast will be held from 9.30am at Victory Hall in Hogan Street, Tatura. Australia Day awards will be presented and a morning tea will be held at the conclusion of the ceremony.

Toolamba

Where: Toolamba Recreation Reserve

When: 11.00am on Thursday 26 January 2023

A free community BBQ will be held for people to meet, mingle and enjoy the day.

Arcadia

Where: Community Centre and Recreation Reserve

When: 8.00am on Thursday 26 January 2023

The community will put on a BBQ breakfast. There will be time for people to meet, mingle and enjoy the day.
