2021 Census – cultural diversity data seminar
The SBS and the Australian Bureau of Statistics will jointly present a Census data seminar on the Cultural and Linguistically Diverse communities of Australia. This seminar will reveal data insights about the cultural diversity of the Australian community. It will provide useful and practical information for any organisation wishing to learn more about the makeup of an increasingly diverse Australia. The seminar is online on morning of 20 September 2022 from 10:30am.
Online Safety for Every Family
The Australian eSafety Commissioner has produced a series of short videos and easy-to-read advice sheets that empower parents to talk confidently with their children about online safety. Available in English as well as Arabic, Dari, Simplified Chinese, Vietnamese and Tamil, the videos and advice sheets cover a range of topics such as safer online gaming and social media use, and what to do if your child experiences cyberbullying.
Free adult Upstander training
Courage to Care offers free community Upstander training led by experienced volunteers who are survivors of genocide. The program focuses on how to stand up against racism, stereotyping, bullying and prejudice and tools for taking action against discriminatory behaviour. Aimed at teachers, community leaders and people wanting positive cultural change in their club or organisation, the next session is on 11 September. There are other sessions available.

Ahead of the Curve Film Mentorship Program
In partnership with Cinespace, Multicultural Arts Victoria presents the Ahead of the Curve Film Mentorship program. Four emerging filmmakers will be paired with four mentors from three filmmaking disciplines—producing, writing, and directing. From October to December 2022, the mentees will receive one-on-one mentorship and teaching sessions in the field of their own choosing.
