Multicultural Seniors Support Program

The Andrews Labor Government is supporting seniors from multicultural communities to foster stronger community connections and promote vibrant local activities.

Minister for Multicultural Affairs Colin Brooks has announced that more than 1,000 multicultural seniors’ organisations will benefit from a significant investment in the Multicultural Seniors Support program.

An investment of $2000 is being provided to each community group to deliver social and cultural activities, purchase equipment and establish digital support networks. Recipients also benefit from complimentary public liability insurance and group accident cover.

THE Filipino Australian & Friends Association (FAFA) organised a remarkable event at Pepper Mill Inn on June 23 to commemorate the 125th Philippines Independence Day. The celebration was a grand success, filled with incredible performances and a lively atmosphere.

The event showcased a diverse range of talents, including an energetic MC, talented singers, and a variety of group dancers who wowed the audience with both modern and folk dances. The performers were adorned in stunning regalia that added to the visual spectacle. Additionally, a talented ukulele group entertained the audience with their skills.

Coronavirus: New Rules and Restrictions for VictoriaThe seven-day rolling average of patients with COVID in Victorian hospitals is 207, a decrease of 15 per cent from last week. There are currently 174 COVID patients in Victorian hospitals. There are currently 11 COVID patients in intensive care. There are 2 cleared cases in ICU. There are 6 COVID patients on a ventilator. The seven-day rolling average of patients in intensive care in Victorian hospitals is 10. In the past three months, 3,679 COVID patients were hospitalised in Victoria.
