The South Sudan Independence Day celebration will be held at St Paul’s African House on afternoon of Sunday 16 July commencing at 3PM. This event is hosted by the GV South Sudanese Community Association. The event will continue until 10pm.
The Shepparton Syrian Association invites you to their Syrian Association Fundraiser at St Paul’s African House on Saturday, 17 June from 3:00pm – 5:00pm. This Fundraiser will help support family and friends back in Syria – come along and help support this cause.
The Victorian Multicultural Awards for Excellence honour outstanding individuals and organisations that foster cross-cultural understanding, support migrants and refugees, and celebrate and preserve the diversity of cultures that make Victoria such a great place to live. This year, two awards were given to multicultural workers in Shepparton.
African Focus is the first detailed survey of the African Communities in Greater Shepparton. It was designed and conducted following extensive consultation, with African community leaders and members, and with organisations, both private and public sector, involved with the African communities. Heard Instinct is a pilot initiative co-designed by Multicultural Arts Victoria and a group of 10 emerging young artists of colour living in the Goulburn Valley region on Yorta Yorta country. The project is being developed to address a need for more self-determined opportunities for young artists of colour, to come together and be able to freely express themselves through the arts. The project has been made possible with support from Ethnic Council Shepparton, Gandel Philanthropy, Australia Council for the Arts and Creative Victoria.

St Paul’s African House will be filled with cultural displays showcasing the rich traditions of different African cultures in regional Victoria in celebration of talent, music, drumming, dancing and cuisine.
