On Wednesday Shepparton resident Liaqat Amadhi flies to Dubai as an Australian representative at the three-day Arab Youth International Model United Nations conference in the United Arab Emirates city, thanks to the support of his school, The Fairley Foundation, Greater Shepparton City Council, the Ethnic Council of Shepparton and Goulburn Ovens TAFE.

A lawyer from the National Union of Workers will conduct a Migration Information Session on the evening of 30 September for the aid of temporary workers and sessional workers in the region of Greater Shepparton. A number of wage cases for sessional and temporary worker visa holders in the region have been won for the benefit of workers. This session will also target Arabic-speaking workers.
Standard Mental Health First Aid is offered in Shepparton as a free, two-day course. Mental health first aid is the help provided to a person who is developing a mental health problem, experiencing a worsening of an existing mental health problem or in a mental health crisis. The sessions will commence at the Senior Citizens Centre on Thursday 12 September and Thursday 19 September.
On Sunday, 16th of June, in glorious sunshine – Mansfield Soccer Club joined with Rural Australians for Refugees (RAR), the Ethnic Council of Shepparton and the Shepparton English Language Centre (SELC) to enjoy a first combined fun & friendly day of soccer, lovely food and an abundant afternoon tea!

The Ethnic Council of Shepparton and District is offering a free course for anyone seeking Australian Citizenship. The course is centred around a study of the questions contained in the test. The course is free and commences on 17 July 2019.
Festivities including a street parade, drumming performance and multicultural dinner have been planned for the Shepparton celebration of Africa Day and the International Day for African Children.
More than 600 people, mainly from Shepparton’s Afghan community, gathered to celebrate Nowruz — the Persian New Year — on Saturday evening.
