FECCA 2022 OpeningOn 16 June, newly-sworn in Minister for Immigration, Citizenship, Migrant Services and Multicultural Affairs Andrew Giles gave his first speech at the Federation of Ethnic Communities Councils of Australia (FECCA) Conference currently underway in Melbourne. The speech was warmly accepted by conference attendees. FECCA 2022 has issued a communique outlining the agreements reached during the conference sessions.

Fecca LogoThis month, the nation is focused on the Federal Election taking place on 21 May. In its Policy Platform 2022, the Federation of Communities’ Councils of Australia (FECCA) has called for the establishment of an Office for Multicultural Australia to lead a coordinated whole-of-government approach to multicultural policy. Whoever wins and forms the next Australian government, we look forward to working with our members to advocate for our diverse communities.
