Our Safer and Stronger Community Pilot program staff have produced a newsletter with the aim of capturing the activity of the program, presenting opportunities for community engagement and looking forward to post Covid-19 situations. A fabulously successful sunny Sunday senior soccer match was played at the Lord’s Grounds on Sunday 17 November. After the positive and rewarding junior multicultural gala day earlier this season, Mansfield Soccer Club, the Mansfield chapter of Rural Australians for Refugees (RAR) and the Ethnic Council of Shepparton collaborated again to host a friendly senior soccer match.
The Ethnic Communities’ Council of Victoria and Diversity and Disability (DnD) share a belief that the most effective advocacy comes from people with a lived experience and therefore disability advocacy is strongest coming from people with disability. There will be a Self Advocacy Training and Feast for Ethnic people with disability at the Foodstore, Fryer St, Shepparton on Wednesday, 3 December, 2019.
Ethnic Council of Shepparton and District in collaboration with GOTAFE will present a session on obtaining the Learner’s Permit for driving a car on the roads. This will take place at GOTAFE, Fryer St, Shepparton on Friday 16 November from 1 – 2pm.
Heard Instinct is a pilot initiative co-designed by Multicultural Arts Victoria and a group of 10 emerging young artists of colour living in the Goulburn Valley region on Yorta Yorta country. The project is being developed to address a need for more self-determined opportunities for young artists of colour, to come together and be able to freely express themselves through the arts. The project has been made possible with support from Ethnic Council Shepparton, Gandel Philanthropy, Australia Council for the Arts and Creative Victoria.
