Testing site - Shepparton — A GV Health spokesperson has responded to the closure of some drive-through testing sites, saying the temporary closures is a “traffic management procedure”.

“When the signs state they are closed, this is a temporary traffic management procedure to manage the risk of vehicles queuing on roads and parking in unsafe locations.

“The wait time is around three hours, so please be patient and take reading material, snacks and water.”

Goulburn Valley Health’s COVID-19 vaccination program has ramped up with Shepparton’s COVID-19 Vaccination Hub open this Saturday, and plenty of bookings available. It comes as demand for vaccination has increased significantly, with more people eligible to be vaccinated and the Victorian Government targeting one million COVID-19 vaccinations in five weeks.

Beware of Census Scams

Scammers have been reported making contact with residents over the phone and asking for personal information on behalf of the ABS or an ABS Census Verification Department. The scam includes providing an official Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) contact number to make the call seem more legitimate. Beware of scams, read about how they pretend to be the Census.

Anti-racism message in art

Using traditional Indigenous arts to break down cultural barriers and tackle racism in schools is the aim behind a new program due to start in Shepparton later this year. The new project Be Woke-Be Anti-Racist has been developed by the Mooroopna-based Point of Difference Studio using the skills and connections of newly appointed Indigenous community engagement co-ordinator and Yorta Yorta artist Tammy-Lee Atkinson.

Volunteer Opportunity – Shepparton Art Museum

Want to help us open our doors this October? Join SAM’s Volunteer program! Shepparton Art Museum is looking for volunteers from the Multicultural community! SAM is partnering with St Paul’s African House and the Ethnic Council to build a group of multicultural Art Museum volunteers. SAM Volunteers create an impact at the Museum in a variety of different ways, including visitor services, cataloguing, and maintaining SAM’s library, providing guided tours to groups, as well as assisting with the facilitation of workshops, talks and other events. Applications close 19 of August!
