The Elsie Conference marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of Elsie Women’s Refuge in the inner Sydney suburb of Glebe, and the start of the women’s refuge movement in Australia. On 15-16 March 2024, the Elsie Conference will delve into the history of refuges and look to the future challenges faced by anyone working in or making policy for the sector.
Familycare are hosting several community information sessions for carers over the coming months focussing on carer support and the Carer Gateway. There are two sessions scheduled for February at Shepparton and Mooroopna. Carers don’t need to register, they can drop in between the times listed below and have their questions answered.

People in Shepparton are being urged to take precautions against mosquito bites , after recent rainfall and flooding across large areas of Victoria. As flood waters recede leaving pools of stagnant water, enhanced mosquito breeding and the potential for disease transmission will increase.
