Cultural roundtable formed to ‘strengthen the community and the various faiths and cultures’
Representatives from various cultural and Aboriginal communities, the Victorian Multicultural Commission, government departments and agencies, Greater Shepparton City Council, and the Greater Shepparton Secondary College will form a roundtable to meet later this month.

Wise Well Women Community Health Educator Program
The Community Health Educator Program in Shepparton supported by Women’s Health Goulburn North East, will deliver a six-day training program at St Paul’s African House commencing April 7. An online introduction to the program will be available using Zoom on Friday 19 March at 8:00 – 8:45am.
Racism: Understanding Your Rights and Taking Action
The Greater Shepparton City Council in collaboration with the Victorian Equal Opportunity and Human Rights Commission have come together to run an online information session to educate and empower multicultural and multifaith communities about racism, understanding your rights and taking action on Monday 22nd March 2021. This will be an online event.
Friendship Cafe – Coronavirus Vaccine and Masks
The Coronavirus Vaccine will be given out in Shepparton and the Goulburn Valley very soon. A Friendship Cafe (Q and A session) will be held at Lutfiye’s Cafe, Shepparton, on monring of 10 March at 11AM. The Cafe will be led by Susan Johnson, the Covid Consortium coordinator for the Goulburn Valley Hub.
Reforms to Partner visa program
As part of the 2020-21 Federal Budget, the Government announced that it will implement reforms to strengthen the integration outcomes of the Partner program by the end of 2021. A Discussion Paper is available.

Raise Our Voices – Disability self-advocacy for CALD communities
Ethnic Communities Council of Victoria is presenting a FREE information session on the National Disability Insurance Scheme and Early Childhood Early Intervention scheme. It aims to build consumer voice, awareness of support pathways and reduce systemic barriers for people with disability of CALD backgrounds. A session will be held at Shepparton South Community House 1pm – 2:30pm on Monday 15 March.
